Nasha Natasha Documentary
The entire tour in Russia was recorded by director and friend, Martin Sastre, which gives us the opportunity to see other aspects of Natalia Oreiro, both on stage and behind the scenes, and as a personality. It also shows a more intimate Natalia, in the solitude of her room, composing in a train carriage, or walking through her grandmother’s house in Uruguay. Nasha Natasha goes back and forth between more personal moments and those related to the tour or work. The problem is a certain solemnity in showing scenes of introspection or emotion. “The film tries to unravel the reason for my connection with Russia, which is closer to love than to something professional,” Natalia said. “Of course, someone might think that it’s all about the series “Muneca Brava” and music, for which I am known not only in Russia but also in the world. But these feelings are mutual, and I have always tried to show them not only to my family and close friends, but even in interviews that I give in Argentina, Spain and other countries.” The original version of the film was shown to guests at the Moscow International Film Festival in 2016. “We received a positive response from both the public and critics. The director, Martin Sastre, wanted to refine the film to tell a deeper story about my connection with Russia, as well as my childhood. We continued filming in Uruguay and Argentina, I went to Russia again, and we were able to shoot some more stuff in St. Petersburg for the finale of the film,” Natalia shared.
The documentary “Nasha Natasha” will be available in Russian, Spanish, English and Portuguese. The film is based on a large-scale Russian tour that Natalia made in 2014, traveling by train through the cities of Siberia. It also shows footage of her trips to Poland, the Czech Republic, Israel, Chile, the Philippines, Italy and other countries, where the star was received no less warmly. It includes conversations with Natalia’s parents, sister, husband, and friends. The teaser of the documentary was published on December 16th. The documentary premiered in Netflix platform on August 6th, 2020.
